Being mentioned over 250 times makes Babylon one of the biggest topics in the Bible. In the book of Revelation over two entire chapters are devoted to Babylon setting up one the major players in end times along with Jesus, Satan and the Antichrist. This begs the question, what makes Babylon so important?

Of the two seemingly unsolvable riddles in the book of Revelation both beginning with the phrase "a mind with understanding", the first is well known, what or who does the number 666 represent (Rev 13:18). The second lessor known, where and what is Mystery Babylon (Rev 17:9-10). Just as important as "where and what”" is "when" will Mystery Babylon emerge. As time goes on these riddles will become more clear, the latter is already taking shape.
